From 1st October, 2021, the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Lands Commission shall no longer issue separate search reports from its divisions. What this means is that all records from the three divisions where searches used to be conducted shall be consolidated in one search report issued by the Lands Commission.
What Consolidated Searches mean for you:
- One search is all you will need to conduct at the Lands Commission in Accra to ascertain any information about any real estate within the jurisdiction.
- You can do this from the comfort of your home or any other convenient place with internet connectivity via the url: https://onlineservices.lc.gov.gh.
- If you need assistance conducting the online search, staff at the Clients Service Access Unit (CSAU) of the Lands Commission, Accra are on standby to help if you visit their office.
- Visit the Lands Commission website from 1st October for:
- Step-by-step guidelines on the online submission and payment processes
- How to track your online applications
- How to access the search reports online
- Fees applicable for the consolidated search
This innovation should make transactions in real estate (especially lands) much more transparent and reduce avenues for dispute or litigation over title and ownership of registered interests in land.
